Menegotti's story began on May 25th, 1940 in the city of Jaraguá do Sul – SC – Brazil.
Erwino Menegotti, with a very little amount of money, installed a Smithery and a Cart Factory.
The store counted on four workers who produced horseshoes, hoes, scythes and made some repairs on metallic parts of carts.
The manufacturing of machines for production of gasogenium, used as fuel for vehicles, was the next step towards the development of the company.
As the region of Jaraguá do Sul was essentially agricultural, the market of machines for cereal processing was the natural path for the company to grow.
In 1963 it was inaugurated a Foundary with the aim to solve problems related to the dependency of good quality cast iron and it was an important remark in the company's history.
O development of the Menegotti Press for production of concrete pipes, in the mid 60's changed the company's profile and market strategy.
Brazil was in straight developing process and in need of sewerage work. The investment in this segment pushed the company forward strongly.
The modest enterprise of the 40's had turned into a solid reality.
A vibrant company that believed the market and made its way through very successful partnerships with customers and suppliers by means of a management system that values the human being.
The company's constant evolution led to investments in new markets and directioning to other segments.
The leadership in the mixer segment was a consequence of the non-stop work and of the internationalization of business.
In January of 2003, aiming agility in the processes and more efficient customer service, it turned the division of machines into an independent company called Menegotti Máquinas e Equipamentos Ltda.
Since then, Menegotti, also known as Menquip, has been continuously structuring and improving its technologies to maintain its path of success. Its market segments today include machinery for blocks and pavements, rainwater pipes, sewer pipes, batching plants, metal molds for pre-cast products, cargo handling equipment, concrete mixers for trucks and special projects.
Consolidation of the brand in the market has resulted in the company having to expand its factory sites in order to meet the growing demand for its products and services. Thus, in addition to the factory in the center of Jaraguá do Sul, Menegotti currently has two branches, one in the suburb of Ilha da Figueira and the other in the city of Corupá.
Future plans include a new factory, presently under construction, with an area of 250,000 m2, 40.000 m2 of which will be productive area and will start operations in 2011 with full operation in 2015. In compliance with environmental standards, this new project will place Menegotti Máquinas e Equipamentos, once again, in a position of national and international reference in the development of complete solutions for industrial equipment that is reliable, economically feasible and socially responsible.

On 25th May 2010, Menegotti completed 70 years.
Much more than just a commemoration with friends, Menegotti launched a book that is not just a book about the company but the trajectory of a family and three generation of work, dedication and success.
As history shows, in 2003 there was a division within the great Metalúrgica Erwino Menegotti, giving origin to two independent companies known as Menegotti Máquinas e Equipamentos Ltda. and Menegotti Indústrias Metalúrgicas, and thus two different books with a current story, but a past in common.
Written by Christina Baumgarten, the book entitled "A dream to be dreamed together" was given to each participant at the event which, without doubt, was a significant milestone in the life of the Menegotti companies.
